At the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St.:
– Jill Sobule and Julia Sweeney (best known for Saturday Night Live) team up for “The Jill & Julia Show” 7:30 tonight at the Capitol Theatre. [$31]
– The York Symphony Orchestra is searching for a new conductor. Saturday night, it welcomes candidate Lawrence Golan to the podium to conduct a 7:3 p.m. concert at the Strand. [$36, $46 and $56]

At the York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave., West Manchester Township:
– Flip through the International Postcard Expo 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Horticultural Hall. [$5 for both days]
– Peruse the York Folk & Fine Art Show 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hall East. [$8 for adults; free for kids 12 and younger]

On stage:
– The Groove Ensemble will perform 7 tonight and the Jazz Ensemble hits the stage 7 p.m. Friday in DeMeester Recital Hall at York College, 441 Country Club Road, Spring Garden Township. [Both are free]
– Blue Man Group combines theater, music and technology Friday through Sunday at Hershey Theatre, 15 E. Caracas Ave., Hershey. [Tickets start at $30]
– Kick the habit with comedian/hypnotist Rich Guzzi’s “Start Joking! Stop Smoking!” tour 9 p.m. Friday and 7, 9 and 11 p.m. Saturday at Stitches Comedy Club in the Lancaster Host Resort, 2300 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster. [$15 to $20]
– Bluegrass band Rhonda Vincent & The Rage hits the stage 8 p.m. Friday at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center, 195 Stock St., Hanover. [$29.50 to $35]
– Aberdeen, Md. band Ballyhoo! hits the stage Friday for a 21-and-older show at The Depot, 360 W. Cottage Place, York. Doors open at 8 p.m. Music starts at 8:30 p.m. [$10 in advance; $13 day of show]
– Hear various ensembles during the York Junior Symphony Fall Concert 3 p.m. Sunday at Dallastown Area Intermediate School, 94 Beck Road, York Township. [$13 for adults, with discounts for seniors and kids]

The York County Heritage Trust Auxiliary will hold its traditional Turkey Trot Sandwich Sale 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Historical Society Museum, 250 E. Market St., York. [$8; call 717-848-1587 to order]
– The halls are decked for the 29th annual Christmastime in Loganville 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Businesses, churches and organizations will offer crafts, food, decorations.
– Visit with Santa 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and receive a free cookie during the Holiday Open House Sunday at Brown’s Orchards & Farm Market, 8892 Susquehanna Trail South, Springfield Township.
